I'm sorry. I wasn't sure what info was needed.

That's good to know. I'm not familiar with much in the way of
DVD, so this is all new territory for me. I really don't think
they're too large, since they're each only 30 to 60 or so minutes
in length. I really think DH is doing something (or not doing
something he's supposed to be doing) when he records them from
VHS and saves them to DVD.

Sorry about that. A wav pedal is a pedal that attaches to the
computer's CPU. It enables me to play a file and use my foot to
start and stop the recording. This setup works in just the way a
transcriber is used (it actually IS a digital transcriber, rather
than a tape transcriber). Anyway, this system allows me to type
while I'm listening, and it makes the transcription of the
interviews a heck of a lot faster than if I had to do it by hand.

No, the audio/video is in synch. I'm losing a couple of
sentences that are supposed to go in the file. I'm losing the
piece of the file that's sandwiched between each section.

I had to go play it to find out. It plays just fine in the
Philips DVD recorder/player on which it was recorded--no
segments. But when I put it in my DVD drive on my computers, I
have to play each section; it does not play continuously.

I have to play the audio with the wav pedal, but I also have to
see the screen because I have to record the numbers that are on
the screen. These are interviews that will be used in TV shows.
The producer can take a look at my transcript and know exactly
where a certain part of the dialogue is on the recording, so
he/she can go to the original recording and use only those
portions of the recording that are needed.

I hope this better explains what I'm trying to do. Please let me
know if it doesn't. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Thanks!
