First, you won't be able to use this thing with USB 1.x. It's simply
too slow. USB 1.x has only about 1/40th the data speed that USB 2 has.
You'll need to get a USB 2 card to work with this. While USB 2 is
backwards compatible with USB 1.x, this only applies to hooking up USB
1.x devices to a USB 2 port on the computer. Compatibility doesn't work
the other way. If you have a USB 2 device, it cannot be used on a USB
1.x port on the computer.
You also may find some problems with being able to send data to the
burner at higher burn speeds. You should experiment, but a 733 MHz
system is very slow compared to low-end systems being sold today. A
quick look at Dell (just as an example, not meant to be held as a
standard) shows their low end systems starting out with a processor
speed of 2.53 GHz, or about three times what you have.
