There's your clue. Check the ZicPlay instructions to see if there are
preferred setting for making your mp3's and try those. You might also try
something like CDex for ripping your songs as it makes it easier for
beginners to set the parameters. If the music quality is still poor, it may
just be a defective mp3 player or headphones. Even really cheap players
these days should be listenable.
