Yep, the problem with the usenet servers that most ISPs provide is that
the retention--the period they hold posts on their hard drives--is very
short for binary posts, generally just a day or two. With a premium server
you can get retention rates of 30 to 60+ days. Prices vary from around $7 to
$25 a month depending mostly on how much you want to download and the
retention rate you're looking for. Giganews is probably the top of the heap
with 60+ days retention and unlimited downloads for $25/month. There are a
number of companies offering unlimited accounts and around 30 days retention
for $15/month.

You'll also need a good binary harvester. Grabit is a good freeware
program. Newsbin pro is a better shareware program.
