Well, if the TV is providing the signal to the recorder and you turn
the TV off, the recorder is no longer getting a signal, so... .
If the RDR-HXD710 has its own internal tuner and you record from that
one, it would do fine regardless of the state of the TV.
The above is based on my understanding of what you said...if you meant
something else, please inform us.
