we had the same problem on NEW tapes and since we recycle them (load tape in
NLE, burn off DVD for program and archive, reuse same tape), the problem
disappeared. moreover, we recently bought a new package of tapes (forgot to
take some old tapes) and wha lah, dropped frames. thus, our suggestion if
burn the tapes in first and see if that releives the problem. did for us.
