In most cases you just rename the VOB file to MPG and load them into a MPEG
editor like Womble or VideRedo if you just want a simple mpeg2 with audio.
If on the other hand you *really* have a need to extract all the other data
that *may* be encoded like subtitles etc then you need to use a demuxer like
ProjectX etc to extract all the other audio file formats (if any) and
subtitles etc.
But for simple day to day use just rename and join up. Then scroll through
until you find the song, put a split in the file at the beginning and end,
delete the rest and re-export the bit you want as a MPEG file. Simple I do
it all the time to upload DVD files to my Topfield (after adding the Toppy
header but that's another story!)
