I am not familiar with the Sima unit you mentioned but most of their
stuff that I have ever seen, I would call toys.
The Laird is actually an inexpensive TBC with real TBC functions.
It can control video gain, sub carrier, chroma plus it replaced the
synch pulse and a few other things. It is also a one in, 4 out a/v
distr. amp.
I have mine for several years now so I can't remember what I
originally paid for it but I'm thinking around $1000.00.
