We have a winfast card in a system here and by default it will not let you
capture at 720x576 UNLESS you change the tv standard away from NTSC to PAL.
Once I had done this the list of available resolutions changed and indeed
720x576 was one of them.
I suspect that the winfast capture software *may* have a memory leak in it
which could explain why the problem occurs over time.
