All iPods play MP3s. Any valid MP3 player is automatically playable in
any iPod, with no other software necessary.

The MP3 format is quite complex. I have seen some Windows programs,
especially freeware and shareware programs, that contain programming
errors that cause them to write flawed MP3 files that do not conform to
the MP3 specification. These flawed MP3 files might or might not play,
depending on the program being used to play them, the phase of the moon,
and so on.

What program created these MP3 files?
