That's Mitsubishi, which should be a good manufacturer. However,
lately they opened a plant in Taiwan which is known to put out crap
discs, even under their Verbatim label. I got 100 which gave me 12
coasters, even at 8x burn. You could see the defects visible as dye
splotches.
Take a look at your bad ones and see if they show obvious defects.

Yes, you can use Disc Quality on existing burns.
I believe the defects will jump out at you when you run the scan.
