Here's what I meant.
Back when the book first came to the US, back in the 1970s, this
epilogue chapter was missing. For our purposes the book ended with the
last chapter presented in the book. That's Ending Number One.
Then a few years back the new book became available in America, the
one with the epilogue chapter. The book therefore had a new ending.
That's Ending Number Two.
Now here's the point: Ending Number One is not the same as Ending
Number Two. Therefore you are wrong - the book does have a different
ending.
