Fighting and losing your leg, though unfortunate; does not make you right.
Did you fight for the fabric that makes the flag and the lyrics that make up
the Star Spangled Banner? Or did you fight to defend the actual freedoms
and the actual ideals that they represent?
If you fought for the actual freedoms and ideals, then you would recognize
that these people have every right to redo the Star Spangled Banner as they
see fit.
If you fought merely for the fabric and the lyrics, then you may be like the
marine I saw yesterday who had the spare tire cover on his Jeep custom
airbrushed with a mushroom cloud and the words "nuke all the ragheads." I
bet if you translate that into Kurdish it sounds a lot like "death to all
infidels."
