To Peter:
I have a Canon 3 chip camcorder that I use when taping Weddings.
The light source I recommended in previous reply on May 6 works very
well with no complicated actions on your part. I gather from your
comment on the $700 figure is too much (cost) in your budget. I agree
with you! I can view my shot using the 2.5 LCD screen on camera to
adjust the light intensity for a good shot. The colors are great and
there is no washout with my video. Of course, if I use too much light,
I can see the unacceptable picture in the LCD. It doesn't take a rocket
scientist to look at your picture to adjust the amount of power needed
for a good picture. With a little common sense, anyone can get a good
picture using the NRG Varalux Professional Light Source. There most be
others that use this LIGHT that could back up this statement. The cost
of this package is the the neighborhood that all could afford it for
the excellent results you will have. All wedding receptions normally
dim the hall lights to get a warm (?) atmosphere which is not what your
camera wants or needs. A light source is a "must" for all Wedding
receptions as well as in the 'old dark' churches that have insufficent
light available for good video. I always use the least amount of light
when taping in order to get an acceptable picture. I don't have the
time to fool around with filters or other means to get a good shot. You
will lose good footage as these good shots come and go fast and don't
wait for you to 'get ready' to catch the 'action'. Good luck Peter in
your endeavors to make those "good video" productions. I hope I was a
little help with your good question.
