Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, CLASSIC
MUSICALS FROM THE DREAM FACTORY, DORIAN BLUES, HILL STREET BLUES: SEASON
TWO, LAST HOLIDAY (2005), LIZA WITH A Z!: COLLECTOR'S EDITION, MICHAEL
PALIN'S SAHARA, RED SOX VS. YANKEES: THE ULTIMATE RIVALRY, REMINGTON
STEELE: SEASON THREE, and TRISTAN + ISOLDE:

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF (reviewed by Brendan Babish, overall score
92/100):
"While provocative storylines may have turned off conventional viewers
in 1958, in the 21st century it is the movie's honest depiction of these
very human situations that keep it relevant."

CLASSIC MUSICALS FROM THE DREAM FACTORY (reviewed by Bryan Pope, overall
score 84/100):
"That's the magic of MGM's musicals. What other class of film is so
transporting, so able to make you forget that there's anything else in
the world while you're watching it?"

DORIAN BLUES (reviewed by Brett Cullum, overall score 89/100):
"Think about all the movies where someone realizes they are gay, or has
to deal with delivering the news to family or friends. It is a defining
moment, but I wish we could get some stories about well-adjusted men
above thirty just to shake things up a bit."

HILL STREET BLUES: SEASON TWO (reviewed by Ryan Keefer, overall
score 88/100):
"There is a reason why Conrad said 'Let's roll' before saying five of
the most memorable words in television history. The fact is that there
were so many characters, the viewer could not help but identify with at
least one of them over the course of the show's life. With everyone
caring about the officers in the Hill Street precinct, 'Let's roll' was
not only for them, but for us as well."

LAST HOLIDAY (2005) (reviewed by Jonathan Weiss, overall score 85/100):
"Think the previously mentioned Joe Versus The Volcano without the
volcano combined with Pretty Woman without the prostitutes and you've
got Last Holiday."

LIZA WITH A Z!: COLLECTOR'S EDITION (reviewed by Jonathan Weiss, overall
score 90/100):
"Before she became known for marrying men of questionable sexuality and
before most people thought of her as a bloated, sauced up druggy, Liza
Minnelli was the child of Hollywood Royalty."

MICHAEL PALIN'S SAHARA (reviewed by James A. Stewart, overall
score 92/100):
"When Palin was cutting up with the Pythons, he used laughter as a sharp
edged, cutting weapon. As a TV traveler, Palin's comic knife has been
forged into a tool that, used gently, can show us the world and break
down barriers."

RED SOX VS. YANKEES: THE ULTIMATE RIVALRY (reviewed by David Johnson,
overall score 88/100):
"For such a divisive and compelling subject like the vaunted Sox/Yanks
rivalry, the producers have mined the conflict well and ended up
capturing the essence of the feud. By essence, I of course mean 'hatred
with the fire of a thousand suns.'"

REMINGTON STEELE: SEASON THREE (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 89/100):
"On the heels of the second season's major retooling of the show,
Remington Steele's third year on NBC was its finest hour, the only time
the well-remembered mystery program cracked Neilsen's Top 25."

TRISTAN + ISOLDE (reviewed by Erick Harper, overall score 85/100):
"There is one weak link in the romantic triangle at the core of this
film, and that is James Franco. He is simply not convincing and lacks
conviction; anyone who can fail to muster conviction or a believable
performance when faced with a woman like Sophia Myles simply isn't
trying at all, and might possibly be dead."
