Well here's been largely my point over the years. Macs have been
largely hailed for their out-of-the -box functionality. However, if
you have your systems being custom-built but a talented guru, that's
entirely different than buying a mass-market machine and trying to get
it to run processor-intensive multimedia software. Most editors would
be fortunate to have someone available who could build such a high
quality system for them, although there are some good custom-built
vendors out there. Of course, those are not cheap. People who think
they are saving money on PC's haven't necessarily looked at comparable
systems and time/labor.

Your preemptive efforts at putting your system together no doubt saved
you a bundle of money and aggravation in the long run.
