Sorry not be keeping up with this.
It's gone back to Comet. Basically the 5.1 AC3 recording feature (the main
reason I got it over the Pioneer DVR540HX) only works on the Philips. It
must hide the audio track on the DVD so no other DVD player can access it.
It's a shame as it wasn't a bad recorder. I've ordered the Pioneer now as it
348 from Empire Direct (60 cheaper than the Philips).
