That editorial isn't talking about HD-DVD or Blu-Ray. It refers
specifically to DVD.
Junior is correct. The original HD master uses 1920x1080 pixels in a
square shape (natively 16:9) and does not have anamorphic enhancement.
DVD uses non-square pixels and requires anamorphic enhancement to
deliver a 16:9 shape.
