i agree. i met a former apple/mac guy at NAB post in NYC and he said he had
so many problems with his sytems approach that he'd nearly committed suicide
something like a dozen times. however, (said he) "i didn't want anyone to
know because everyone was shooting arrows at macs" . . "however, (he
continued) when i switched to pc, i didn't mind posting my issues because i
knew i could get help and no one would think i had anything amiss." while
that sounded like pc's were worse, he told me that the pc solution has been
a godsend, for he had 10 times the problems with his apple/mac (FCP by the
way) but couldn't find help. while with his pc an issue is resolved usually
within 48 hours without having to call tech support, the manufacture, or
anyone else related to the software or equipment supply . . pointing out
that there were 1000's of choices. it's what we found too. one little
problem at apple took us three days to get a solution and the solution was
to reboot the entire system. for crying out loud we could conclude that on
our own. however, it didn't fix the problem.
