Not. My iPod can play music for ANY source. Yes, it only does iTunes DRM.
But so what? 98% of the stuff on my iPod has no DRM!!!! That 98% came from
sources OTHER than the iTunes Music Store.

You are really dense. Or a Troll. Or both.

Yes. And since as a male over 40 my dynamic hearing range is decreasing,
I don't give a damn. Oh yeah, and it's only 2% of my content. Most of
the content came from OTHER sources.

Can you turn WMA/DRM'd music into unprotected music? And if so, at what
quality??

I'm not locked into anything. I have the best digital music player for my
needs, which plays the formats I need. I can get music from many sources.
The music I did get from the music store can be burned to CD, played on 5
systems and multiple iPods.

How many computers and players does MS let you use?

Note - I said any SOURCE. Not any format. I have no content in those
sources nor have I EVER been unable to find the content I do want in
a format I can play.

In other words, you have to use Microsoft's OS. Apple lets you use
iTunes on ANY OS. Heck, it's even running on my work PC under Linux
(using Wine).

MS wants to use their music to lock people into Windows. Apple doesn't
seem to care about which OS you use. Looks like more M$ lockin. As
usual. As you say, colour me surprised.

But M$ is quite happy to lock you into the Windows platform, and you don't
seem to have ANY trouble with that.

You're a troll or fanboy. Or both.
