I remember some of those! Our music teacher in the '50s was a bit of a HiFi
enthusiast and he played us some on the new super HiFi he persuaded the
school to buy. Can't remember any of the kit except the turntable - it was a
Decca with a big platter and those dots round the side on an angled edge and
the big Wharfedale speakers. The whole kit sounded superb compared to the
Gramophone we had at home, which is perhaps why I ended up buying a Quad set
up when I could finally afford it.
Some of the motor racing ones were good too particularly the drag racing
ones.
