It's the DVDs that have a short life. CD-Rs are longer. Though unlikely to
be infinite. I figure before my CD-Rs go bad hard drives will be so cheap
that I can put all online, plus have a mirror backup hard drive in another
part of the house. Then the chances are a fire will only get one of the
hard drives. (The house has smoke detectors throughout and calls a central
station. So unlikely to completely burn down.)
