Your reaction seems a bit surprising to us! :-)
I graduated from high school in 1966 and at the time
I was essentially the only one in the school who was
NOT all in a frenzy about the Beatles. I am still not
any more impressed with them as a performance group.
They wrote a few nice songs, if you hear them in a
decent arrangement. Which is to say that I have never
been particularly impressed by "contemporary culture".
