I learned that there is sometimes a way to take a streaming .ra, .rm,
or .php link and change the link so that it only plays part of the
audio. Does anyone know if there's also a way to do this with a
streaming mp3 (.m3u) link?
For example, this link plays the whole 2-hour 4/26/97 episode of "A
Prarie Home Companion":
http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/play/audio.php?media=/1997/04/26_phc
But you can play just an 18-minute, 41-second portion of it by adding
start and end times:
http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/play/audio.php?media=/1997/04/26_phc&start=00:01:29:19.0&end=00:01:48:00.0
I used to do this with "This American Life," but their archive no
longer streams RealAudio. They now stream mp3. The following link
streams the whole 1-hour show # 198:
http://audio.wbez.org/tal/198.m3u
Does anyone know a way to make a link that will play just part of it?
