I have a similar problem, I dont have a Panasonic I have a
"MicroAdvantage" (dont know who really made it) This problem only
started after I installed Nero.
There is a physical lever inside the drive door which locks the tray
while in use to keep you
from opening it while the disc is reading/writing. Sometimes the lock
forgets to unlock.
There MAY be a tiny pinhole under the door/drawer, that is the
emergency release.
Get yourself a JUMBO paperclip and unbend it about halfway.
Poke the paperclip through the hole and the drawer will pop open.
Its an annoying workaround but it works.
