You post this less than a week after Toshiba issued a firmware update  
that fixes these issues that a minority of owners were having. The  
firmware is free and easy to install (just plug an ethernet cable into a  
high-speed modem, or ask Toshiba to mail a CD-R). I'm sure you already  
know this, and are just trying to spread more FUD. 
 
Here's one for you: Sony is having a 40% failure rate with single-layer  
Blu-Ray discs, and over 75% failure on dual-layer discs. BLU-RAY =  
STILLBORN.
