The drive in a new dvd player is noisy, making kind of a chirping,
buzzing, rumbling sound. It's not loud or even intrusinve, but is
annoying given that my old cheapy unit that died a few days ago was
virtually silent. It's the second one after returning one that did the
same thing. Before I go running back to the store with this one, I
wanted to check to see if noisy drives are common on these things or
whether I should keep returning till I find a quiet one. It's a
Philips model 642 by the way.
