You're mistaking Apple for Creative, who started off marketing Yepp
devices under their own brand.
And "bought from another company" in the realm of MP3 players is silly.
Most of 'em use similar cores; Apple use(d) PortalPlayer stuff, but the
iPod's physical design and menu system is Apple's own. And that's
largely what has made it a bestseller.
