i have a "proper" hd-dvd player (not an upscaler) it plays hd-dvds and
upscales too and i would be hard pushed to mistake a dvd (even a superbit)
for HD but i suppose it all depends on the original source material that the
HD version is taken from, the fifth element region1 superbit upscaled
through the a1 player does look near hd, its not got the fine detail or
vibrance but the average joe would have a hard time distinguishing it from
the hd version! especially if the reports on the blu-ray version are true
:( also depends on the display if u watch on a 26" HD tv then i bet its
not worth the upgrade just stick with an upscaler but when it gets projected
u can really see the difference and the extra $$'s are worth it imho! i know
my mates cant tell the difference half the time, i.e bourne supremacy "isnt
very HD" "its all grainy and washed out" god help us all when they release
saving private ryan!
plus u gotta remember that superbits were sony/columbia releases who seem to
have a habit of releasing-
1. original release
2. superbit release
3. superbit deluxe 2discs
4. new uncut extended/unrated version
5. umd version
6. blu-ray minimal extras
7. blu ray higher capacity more extras
8. blu-ray superbit
