I'd say you're pretty foolish.
There's a good chance that HD-DVD won't be the reigning format - or could
die out altogether.
There's a good chance that later HD-DVD videos could have region coding on
them and it's undefined right now how this feature will affect existing
players - like yours.
There's also the mess about HDMI, ICT and other DRM issues.
And by Christmas, I bet we'll see a HD-DVD player that'll blow yours out
of the water - it may even be another Toshiba model.
Yeah, buying the latest and greatest can be a good thing and all - but in
this case, it's just too soon to make any sort of decision. Right now,
there's just too much uncertainity and not enough benefit.
