Bill's shopping bag trick is a classic, and will work surprisingly wellbecause the camera will be in close and have the lens fully wide. That
 minimizes any obvious motion.

You can also use a broomstick and some hardware to snag the camera by
it's top-mounted carry handle, looking something like a polo or croquet
mallet. The weight of the camera at the bottom of a long stiff pole
creates a stabilizing pendulum with a long period to it, so if you
don't swing it too much, and keep your wrist supple at the top, it will
"float" the camera in a pretty stable manner. It's one of the main
 principles behind the steadicam.
