I want to record meetings using a small portable audio device (like an
flash memory MP3 player).
This would be done COVERTLY.
I need a device which has a paricularly sensitive microphone (or at
least a microphone which picks up speech best).

Other extremely useful features are as follows (in no partic order):
(1) Ease of use as a recorder. (Not lots of fiddling to start it
recording.)
(2) Ease of use when playing back. (Maybe a palmtop whose screen can
show the audio clip and lets you play from differnt places in it.)
(3) Ability to play back thru a built-in speaker. (Even a tiny one.)
(4) Ability to take external microphone. (When used inside a bag.)
