Kusturica's "Underground", which is in many people's top 10???? Well I
see dozens of surveys of people top 100 or even 500 films, and I've
never seen it on a list in my life! Just because it's in your top 10,
doesn't make it "many people's" top 10....I'm not wanting to belittle
you, as you are passionate about these films, and I respect that, but
you are talking about films with no UK market. You think that it would
be worth while doing a transfer for a few hundred copies, well I'm
sorry, but it wouldn't. If someone could obtain an existing digital
transfer of the film, they would have to pay a sum for that, then you
have legal fees and production costs...and the only way you'll break
even is if you charge 25 a disc, or shift thousands of copies. Then
you get to the films where no existing digital transfer exists...imagine
how much that costs??
And sorry to say, local companies cannot import indie films, it's
illegal. Many have tried....
