btw, on the beta crap, one station we work with would only take DVCPRO or
betaCAM so we went to best buy bought them a consumer grade DVD player for
$39 and delivered it with the DVD commercial to which they thanked us and
then used the player to get our commercial movie into their server. it's a
no brainer. also if they balk on that (like one of ours did) then they hook
up the dvd player we gave them to a betaCAM and record it then input the
tape to the server. however, they eventually learned that they could simply
run the dvd player "through" the betacam and get the same result but in one
step :o) in any event they get a dvd or miniDV or they don't get from us.
when they can't accommodate your client and you simply say to them, "well,
we'll tell our client you can't handle the latest format . . ." they say,
"OK buy us a DVD player and we'll do it." again, it's a no brainer.
moreover, if dvd is good enough for hollywood making millions in the dvd
market, it's good enough for our tv production and tv commercials (mpeg2
rocks no matter what the pristine HD'ers say)
