I shot video with a Sony Digital 8 camcorder and input it into
premeire 6.5 using the default Microsoft DV(NTSC) settings which say
lower field first. Also my capture settings should be correct since I
was able to select my model camcorder in the device control settings.
When I output the bitmaps and deinterlace them in Photoshop, I notice
the top and bottom halves of the frames move in opposite directions
when viewing the odd and even frames. It doesn't matter what setting
I use in Premiere to output them. I've tried lower-field first, upper
field first and no fields.
I read the Help avail in Premiere and there was a section on fields
that seem to imply that one could reverse the field order in the clip
under Clip/Video options but that was grayed out when I went to do it.
Can anyone explain why this is happening and how to correct it?
