You should buy whatever works best in your stand-alone DVD player.
Current DVD writers don't care too much, but most stand-alone players
do.
One thing I know for sure is that:
1. Panasonic players like Prodisc 16X DVD-R just fine, and they are
inexpensive. You can buy them at Meritline.com.
