Probably the Sony LCD model. And a bloody good set it is too. Some
would say a better, more 'filmic' picture than the overly processed
image you get from plasmas, but that's a matter of personal taste.

Not really. Depending on usage, the user replaceable lamps are rated for
something like three to five years. And they're all a lot less bulky
than they used to be. I've recently swapped an old Pioneer 50" CRT
RPTV for a 52" DLP Tosh, and despite having 2" more screen I can lift
the set up on my own. It's about half the depth of the Pioneer, which
was built of bloody great slabs of 3/4" chipboard and was more like a
piece of furniture. It took about four people to lift it.
To get a comparably sized plasma would have cost me at least triple
what the Tosh cost, and wouldn't have been any better a picture. I
wouldn't swap even if I wanted to waste that amount of money.
