Here is the situation. I am feeding component video to a DSR-45 DVCam
recorder. I am recording to a 94 min. cassette and feeding the
IEEE-1394 firewire signal from the DSR-45 to a desktop computer running
Sony Vegas 6.0 to capture the same video to the harddrive. The problem
is that the timecode doesn't match. The DSR-45 timecode can be preset
anywhere I want it. The Captured AVI files on the desktop always start
at 00:00:00:00, and reset back to 00:00:00:00 every 4.5 gig. Is there
another capture software that addresses this issue? Is there a setting
on the Vegas capture utility that I am unaware of?
BTW, while the Vegas capture software is actually capturing, the
"location" field indicates accurate timecode identical to the DSR-45
recorder. So it is actually "seeing" to correct timecode, just
ignoring it.
Any help would be appreciated.
