Are you running at the "standard speed", or at the "long-playing speed"?
If you are running at "long-playing speed", those kinds of interchange
problems are to be expected, IME. If you are running at "standard
speed", this may be some difference in the way Sony vs. JVC interperet
the mini-DV standard, or maybe there is just something wrong with
that particular JVC unit? Can you take your Sony-written tape down
to a shop and try it on other JVC units? (of the same or different
models)
