DVCAM has "locked" video. Supposed to stay in sync better. An hour
tape only lasts 40 minutes at DVCAM speed. The tape rolls faster.

Many professionals do not think DVCAM offers much improvement.

YOu are correct. Decks are expensive. I got a DSR 11 for about $1k on
Ebay. Works fine. Tape is easier to manipulate. Plus..it's just less
Mickey Mouse than using a camera to input footage.....or worse
yet....to do tape to tape editing.....as my former partner was doing
on our PD150. I stress former partner.

It was too much trouble to learn how to use his new G5.

not kidding.
