Video DVDs can have errors and still play OK. But the error is there. Video
DVDs have redundant files for the key information and the video stream can
still be decoded having a few wrong bits here and there. It is also
a feature of the player, some do a better job than others. Furthermore,
editing of a corrupted video stream may be problematic, the typical
syndrome is a OOS effect between video and audio.

I think that the error is there but it has been successfully recovered
by your DVD player.

For a data DVD, however, a failed verification is never a good sign...
