The WinMX 2.x network went down several years ago when the gateway server was
disabled. It is not compatible with the WinMX 3.x protocol and therefore v.2 and v.3
maintained separate networks at the time.
Unless you are using some sort of hacked/patched client to connect to some kind of
unofficial WPNP network, the only thing that the 2.6 client is any good for today is
connecting to Opennap servers, as I don't think the 2.x network was ever revived.
