I was watching "the tonight show" (nbc) where the host interviews people on
the street.
There is very little change in volume when he accidentally talks while
moving the mic towards the inteviewee or vice versa. There is no noticeable
change in background noise, so it doesn't sound like they adjusted the
volume in post.
How is this done? Do they have a shotgun on-camera mic as the backup?
