I have two FS4 hd's, and have had mixed results. While they work well
on my Sony FX1, they are unpredictable on my Canon XL2 (which I usually
shoot with). I've tried to use one at two weddings, but when changing
lesnse, tape or going to standby, they usually lock up.Which means you
have to be thinking about it and checking. If they do stop recording,
you have to power down everything, unplug and re plug the firewire
cable, and try agian. As if I Idon't have ENOUGH to think about while
shooting a wedding!
So now I never use the FS 4 in run and gun or pressure situations,
only when it's a controlled or longer shoot where there's time to check
the fs 4 after changing tape.
