just my 1 cent's worth:
1) The "best" will be the one you didn't buy.
They all do the same job today, with different
features depending on what you watch / scan.
If this is your first, just rack it up to a learning
curve and buy one. (Do get "blind search" feature).
2) Although good deals can be found, pay the few extra
bucks to get one from a dealer/store that stands behind
their sales -- auction sites are attractive -- but try
returning one when it goes up three months later ....
and the quality of ALL these receivers seems (IMHO) to
be hit or miss. Just a side-effect of mass production.
3) Potential? That's not for me. HOWEVER, i do recommend
doing your own internet search to find what you may to
get FREE software updates. My receivers work better with
2nd party software than the manufacturer's own software.
(This may void your warrenty, but make the Rcv'r stable).
