If you want to record under stressful conditions,
you need to use equipment designed for the job.
The sound system of typical consumer camcorders
was designed to record the noises of the kids
splashing in the wading pool in your back yard.
The SPLs you encounter at rock concerts is no
place for wimpy consumer equipment. But I don't
need to tell *you* that, you did the experiment for
yourself.
