I totally disagree. You forgot one step and changed 2...
They create it, *I buy it* , *I own it*, *I can do what I like with it*
(as long as I don't duplicate it to give or resell to someone of
course).
It's like I buy a chair, but the company says I can only use the chair
at the table in my living room. If I want to move it to my room, I
need permission from the company... WTF? The only difference with
software is that it's easy to duplicate and pirate, but the legitimate
customers shouldn't suffer for it. They should prosecute the
criminals, not the legitimate users.
