Why not? You'll be around in a year, won't you?

It is precisely because I do not want it to go wrong that I am willing
to wait another year until hopefully the manufacturers get their act
together.

I want Dell to make a PVR. Then I can complain to them and they will
fix it in 24 hours on site.

Imagine having something so simple as a removable disk drive bay. You
could lay off all those VOY episodes and take the disk to your
computer for editing and compilation - store them on a second hard
disk. Then when you want to play them you can take the second hard
disk to your PVR and plug in the drive.

Those DVD discs you have burned to are not going to last very long,
not even the TY. The dye deteriorates over time and then you have lost
everything. By contrast you can get a WD 250 GB hard drive for $70. If
you capture the shows as AVIs at medium resolution you can get 70
episodes on one disk. That's a dollar per episode to store them
forever.

Govt is an insult to human dignity. With or without govt,
you would have good people doing good things and evil
people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil
things, that takes govt. Govt is the root of all evil.
