Dumbass! I am on the US side of this argument.
WE had drag strips all over the country, and WE had 7 second beasts
in the sixties, which proves that WE developed engines as well as
induction systems, etc. etc. et al better than the rest of the world.
Then they played catch up.
To this day, I do not see very manu euro teams on the circuit, nor
any building hot engines. In fact, if they have any, they are likely
bought from over here. ie big block chevys, and mopar powerplants.
I have never seen a Volvo engine in a drag car, or ANY other euro
make for that matter.
