The trailer for King Kong features at least one scene that's not in the
actual movie. Peter Jackson has said that there's abour 30-40 minutes of
cut footage that could be used for a potential extended cut. Universal is
reportedly waiting until the box-office results are in before greenlighting
such an endeavor though.
